Functionally Incremental Training Necessitating Exercise & Strengthening Systems
The human body is a disturbingly complex meat engine, near solely responsible for how you interact with the world. It’s also the only one you get.
The fitness level and health condition of your body will determine how slowly your body ages, how likely you are to lose bone mass, the rate at which you develop illnesses like cancer, heart disease and many, many, many, many.. many more. It also determines whether or not getting up from your chair is demanding, bending over is risky, or jumping & falling is painful.
Your body can only give back what it has available, and that’s where we come in.
As the sentient beings in control of our beloved meat engine, the responsibility of its care and maintenance falls on us. If it gets hurt, we must modify our actions to help it recover and strengthen so that we reduce the vulnerability we may face later.
Although optional, we may choose to engage in short daily exercise to not only maintain our fitness levels but even build on them. We can set goals for ourselves currently far beyond our abilities with a simple system in mind. This system.
It’s my great pleasure to introduce you to a pet project of mine, one near entirely responsible for my physical rehabilitation, physical performance and psychological well being.
I present to you, FITNESS, or Functionally Incremental Training Necessitating Exercise and Strengthening Systems.
The idea behind this project is to tackle overall fitness in a simultaneously efficient, simple and wide ranged technique. It merges multiple elements not only of physical fitness, but of personal individual training, whatever it is you may wish to train.
It consists of a simple two sided template, each side containing a handful of exercises you’ve chosen matching your needs and wants. They can fall into one of several categories I’ve devised.
-
I actually got and modified this idea from a fantastic fitness youtuber, The Bioneer. Definitely check him out if you’re curious.
That said, ONE is a quick and simple list of 5 or so simple exercises, ones you can do until your strength fails you.
It serves as a warm-up, a linear measure of your physical progress and subsequent motivation.
And as the name implies, it’s also the Only Necessary Exercise you need to do. If you don’t have the time, or the energy on a given day, you just need to do ONE.
-
Although optional, this is most definitely a category I make regular use of.
I’m currently recovering from knee injuries, and utilize this to help guide and incentivize me to do my physio. Having it as a physical page does wonders for motivation.
-
As the title implies, this category fits any standard exercise that you may wish to fit into your workout routine.
Nothing more, nothing less.
-
Another optional section, dependent on your time and energy, allowing you to push your limits. Beyond even the physical.
Want to learn to type more quickly? Add a typing training section. Language learning? Doing handstands? Vision exercises?
If you want it and can think of it, this is where it belongs.
-
All good exercise requires a good stretch to cool down.
It promotes recovery, reduces inflammation and the risk of injury, AND it makes you more flexible!
Amazin’
Now that you have a functional understanding of the categories, time to actually show you what it looks like!
Keep in mind too that this is just my Rehabilitation training template.
Given the current state of my injuries and physiotherapy, I’m not capable of doing anything beyond this list, and so it’s gotten the majority of my attention. That being said, I’ve already been preparing myself for other training types, including but not limited to
Aquatic Training
Gym Training
Home Training
Outside Training
Brain Training
Mobility & Dexterity Training
And an early template for a FITTest (Functionally Incremental Training Test)
All of these will be visible and accessible in the file download I’ll be linking to shortly.
Simply put, my goal is to become hyperfunctional in all areas of my life. As much as my muscles need strengthening, so does my memory, balance, speed, intellect, reasoning skills and general adaptability.
This may go somewhat beyond most people’s needs and wants, that’s perfectly fine. The purpose is to help empower you to become more physically active, whatever that means!
Download links to follow.
Keep in mind, uploading the files to the cloud may result in minor spacing modifications, breaking the original look and template.
As with all my systems and products, they will be freely available so that all who need them may access them.
That being said, if you find these free systems useful to you, I would ask that you consider supporting what I do for as little as 1$ a month on Patreon. As always, anything is appreciated and it truly does mean more than you know!
Enjoy ;)

My latest copy of the FITNESS program I utilize. At the time of this entry, I only use the Rehabilitation Training template, and so expect inconsistencies in the other training templates.
Enjoy!
